Award-winning river cruise line AMAWATERWAYS has expanded its fleet of custom-designed vessels with the launch of the spectacular, 162-passenger MS AMABELLA (May 2010). The line’s fleet available for booking now numbers 12 luxurious vessels.

The newly-built AMABELLA’S features include staterooms averaging 214 square feet (larger than those on many ocean-going ships) and exclusive double balconies, continuing the line’s tradition of innovative luxury on Europe’s great waterways.

In addition to these stunning staterooms, AMABELLA’S exclusive features include an intimate chef’s table restaurant that seats just 24 and has its own private chef; a library with fireplace; and a swimming pool. The vessel also features AMAWATERWAYS’ newly-upgraded ‘Infotainment’ system, offering complimentary high-speed Internet access, complimentary first-run Hollywood movies, classic films and computing options for those maintaining email contact or even blogging during their holiday. The entire vessel, as with all the AMAWATERWAYS vessels on the Danube, Rhine, Main and Mosel, has complimentary Wi-Fi.

AMABELLA joins AMADOLCE (2009), AMALYRA (2009), AMADANTE (2008), AMACELLO (2008), AMALEGRO (2007) and AMADAGIO (2006), ships that have already led the industry with pioneering concepts such as French balconies, complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks with dinner and a fleet of bicycles for passenger use. New ships with state-of-the-art design are hallmarks of AMAWATERWAYS and part of an ongoing multimillion-dollar investment to provide the best river cruisers on the market. In 2011 the line will launch MS AMAVERDE in Europe, a sister ship to MS AMABELLA.

In Southeast Asia, the brand-new MS AMALOTUS will join the MS LA MARGUERITE, which debuted on the Mekong River in the autumn of 2009 as part of the new ‘Vietnam, Cambodia and the Riches of the Mekong’ itinerary. The decision to build a new Mekong river ship results from the tremendous success of the inaugural season of this program.

The new, 124-passenger AMALOTUS will feature exquisitely decorated 226 square-foot deluxe staterooms with all the amenities of a fine hotel. All suites and staterooms offer outside accommodations, with more than 82 percent featuring balconies. Junior suites provide an extra spacious 290 square feet of space and suites, at 452 square feet, provide the ultimate in onboard pampering.

Like LA MARGUERITE, AMALOTUS will sail seven-night Mekong river cruises from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

AMAWATERWAYS is also making news on the waterways of Russia. The completely refurbished MS AMAKATARINA will launch in the spring of 2011, debuting as the most luxurious vessel on the Volga-Baltic Waterway. Guests on the culture-rich cruise from Moscow to St. Petersburg will have a choice of 10 different stateroom categories, including four different suite categories and accommodations up to 432 square feet. A total of 76 staterooms aboard AMAKATARINA include balconies, and the lavishly appointed vessel will include an alternative restaurant, conference hall, sauna and solarium.Dear Mike,

"We just returned from our Amadeus Waterways Danube cruise on the AMALEGRO and wanted to let you know just how fantastic the cruise was. We boarded in Budapest and cruised up the river for a week to Germany. The boat was brand new this year, so it was immaculate and modern. The accommodations were outstanding. The stateroom was quiet, well sound insulated from adjoining staterooms, there was no motion when underway, and the sliding glass door in the stateroom gave us a chance to enjoy the nice weather and listen to the Danube flow by.

With a capacity of only 150 passengers, it was cozy, we got to meet people from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and the US. The dining room and lounge were capable of accommodating everyone at once. The food for the three meals daily was exceptionally good and plentiful. The lounge was a restful place to have a drink as desired, watch the scenery go by and to enjoy the nightly local entertainment. The shore excursions each day were well handled and provided a glimpse into the historic and picturesque towns and cities where we stopped."

Amadeus, the cruise director and the crew did a superb job in catering to us and in entertaning us for the entire week we were aboard. It's a cruise that we will long remember, and much better and more personal than a cruise on a 2,000 passenger vessel.

Thank you for being so helpful in arranging our cruise. We very highly recommend Amadeus Waterways cruises based on our experience.

Regards,
Sarah and George Wagner

“This was our first river cruise... so we compared in detail all the cruise lines. We selected Amadeus Waterways because the ship, the itinerary, the included tours & services provided appeared to be the best quality & value for our money. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than we expected.”

“Our trip was wonderful and almost everything went off without a hitch. Staying at a hotel one day ahead of our cruise was a very good idea as it gave time to acclimate to the time change. The MS Symphony was excellent and our accommodations superb. Needless to say, the food was great!

The crew was very friendly and accommodating and the touring schedule sufficiently flexible to even satisfy me (who generally prefers the self-guided variety). The size of the group on the boat was JUST RIGHT.

For a first time at this type of experience, it exceeded my wildest expectations. We're ready for another cruise with different destinations.”

“We want to express our gratitude for the wonderful attention that was given to our group during our Heartland of Europe River Cruise aboard the Symphony starting on June 18. The special wine tasting that was arranged for our group was the highlight of our trip. Everyone in our group was very impressed and grateful.

Our hotel in Prague was beautiful and the staff there so helpful and friendly. And everyone raved about the extensive and delicious buffet breakfast.

Our cabins on the Symphony were very spacious and comfortable with a place to put everything. The large picture windows displayed the beautiful scenery as we sailed along the rivers. The food on the ship was excellent with a great variety and everyone remarked how much they appreciated the complementary local wines with dinner each evening. The dining staff were very efficient and lots of fun too.

Andrzej was the best cruise director! He was very organized and informative. He went out of his way to give our group extra attention and service. We also enjoyed his humor.

Of course the scenery along the rivers is breathtaking - we had not sailed on the Moselle before and we especially enjoyed the scenery there. The guided sightseeing was well planned and there was a nice mix of structured and free time during the entire trip. The entertainment on the ship was excellent. The classical pianist was very good as were the local entertainers. We especially enjoyed the classical trio who received four encores and the little black cats in Zell.

This trip is wonderful for a group. We strive to have happy clients and in our group of 46 everyone raved about the trip so that made our job so much easier.

We also want you to know how nice you are to work with - we really appreciate how well all the planning, promotion and paperwork for our trip went and how friendly and accommodating you all are.”

  Dear Kristin,

”I want to take this opportunity to again THANK YOU for the WONDERFUL river cruise aboard the MS Symphony, May 30 to June 6, 2004!

The cruise was absolutely marvelous; the crew unbelievably dedicated and delightful; and the cuisine and accommodations were five (*****)star! Of course, the scenery and planned events for the passengers were also beyond words so far as being spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Amadeus and have no hesitation to recommend it to clients over any other European waterway trips that I am familiar with.

Again, MANY, MANY THANKS for a wonderful waterway holiday!!”
