Spend three nights in Prague and cruise from Nuremberg to Budapest

 Day 1 Depart U.S

Day 2 Arrival in Prague, Czech Republic. Time to rest or start exploring the city during the balance of the day.

Day 3 Prague. Morning sightseeing reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe's most attractive cities. See thousand-year-old Hradcany Castle, the Old Town, the Jewish ghetto and many other major sights. The afternoon and evening are free to mix with the locals at Wenceslaus Square or enjoy one of the charming cafés or restaurants. (BB)

Day 4 Prague. A relaxing day to wander along the banks of the Vltava River, unwind at an outdoor restaurant, or shop for local handicrafts and art work. (BB)

Day 5 Prague-Nuremberg, Germany. (Embarkation).  Enjoy a free morning in Prague. After lunch drive through the pastoral countryside to Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia. Tonight gather on board your ship for a Welcome Dinner. The ship will moor overnight in Nuremberg. (BB,D)

Day 6 Nuremberg-Continental Divide.  Enjoy sightseeing in this historic city with its fabulous Gothic churches and elegant patrician houses. Today's highlight: transit the Main-Danube Canal and arrive at the highest point of your cruise - 1,332 feet above sea level - before descending again through stair-step locks. (FB,L,D)

Day 7 Regensburg-Danube Gorge. This morning takes you through the final stretch of the fascinating Main-Danube Canal. In magnificent Regensburg, one of Germany's best preserved medieval cities, a guided tour will show you the architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Pretoria-gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179AD. Later embark on an exciting boat trip through the lovely Danube Gorge to WELTENBURG ABBEY. (FB,L,D)

Day 8 Passau-Linz, Austria.  Early this morning the ship takes you through scenic valleys past charming riverside towns. After breakfast arrive in Passau, where the rivers Inn and Ilz join the Danube. During your walking tour, gaze at this fairy-tale city founded more than 2,000 years ago. Or take an optional full-day tour to Salzburg and its most popular Sound of Music sights. For those staying on board, enjoy a scenic cruise from Passau into Austria and on to Linz, Austria's third largest city. (FB,L,D)

Day 9 Melk-Vienna.  Cruise through the narrow Strudengau and reach the Wachau Valley early this morning. A guided tour takes you to Melk's magnificent BENEDICTINE ABBEY, one of Europe's largest baroque monasteries. At lunchtime, continue through the romantic Wachau Valley, dotted with magnificent castles and charming riverside towns. Late afternoon arrive in Vienna, the "City of Music" and Austria's magnificent capital. Tonight explore on your own or come along for an optional Mozart and Strauss concert. (FB,L,D)

Day 10 Vienna-Bratislava, Slovakia.  A wonderful day to savor the captivating baroque elegance of romantic Vienna. A guided sightseeing tour includes the lavish Hofburg Palace, the impressive Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse and awe-inspiring ST. STEPHEN'S CATHEDRAL. At lunch time the ship departs Vienna and continues to nearby Slovakia. A guided tour of Bratislava reveals the city's major sights. From 13th-century Bratislava Castle you'll enjoy breathtaking views overlooking three countries-Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. This eventful day is followed by an evening filled with an enchanting music performance on board. Before midnight, depart for Hungary. (FB,L,D)

Day 11 Budapest, Hungary.  Sightseeing includes historic Buda Castle, from where you have a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest spread over both banks of the river. Your tour also features 500-year-old MATTHIAS CHURCH, St. Stephen's Basilica, distinctive Fishermens Bastion, the marvelous Royal Palace and much more. Your afternoon is free to explore on your own. Tonight gather on board for a Gala Farewell Dinner with Gypsy violins. (FB,L,D)

Although rarely found on European river cruise ships, suites aboard the MS Amadagio are extra spacious - 255 square feet. They feature a sitting area with a sofa and two chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows with French balcony and a luxurious, extra spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower.
